What is DDS?

21-07-2025

A Due Diligence System (DDS) is a system of policies and procedures designed to minimize the risk of purchasing materials from unacceptable sources.

The three main elements of a DDS are:

• Information. The company must have access to information describing the materials, their country of origin, quantities, supplier details, and information about compliance with applicable national legislations;

• Risk Analysis. The company must assess the risk of illegal goods appearing in its supply chain;

• Risk Mitigation. If the risk analysis indicates a risk of illegal goods appearing in the supply chain, then this risk should be mitigated by requesting additional information and verifying the supplier.

The CERTWOOD GROUP offers the creation of a custom DDS tailored for your company.
