Latest Changes In EUDR

23-07-2025

On April 15, the European Commission introduced a simplification package that will possibly reduce the administrative burden associated with implementing the regulation.

The main changes by the European Commission are:

- the exclusion of certain products from the scope of the EUDR, e.g., product samples for testing, packaging materials used for protection, waste pursuant to Article 3(1) of Directive 2008/98/EC, used and previously used goods, and furniture not falling within the scope of the regulation,

- simplification for large companies, consisting of the ability to reference supplier documentation via a reference number, which will significantly improve compliance in the supply chain,

- exemptions for consignments, meaning that due diligence statements no longer need to be submitted separately for each consignment or delivery,

- group-level notifications, meaning that a representative will be able to submit due diligence statements on behalf of the entire corporate group,

- the ability to use previous due diligence statements when re-importing goods that have already entered the EU.
